Trainer Certification Process

How can I become a Lamplighters’ Leader-Trainer and have our small group become an official Lamplighters Bible study group:

Anyone can purchase Lamplighters Bible studies directly from Lamplighters International or a retail Christian bookstore or online distributor and register for online leadership training. To become an official Lamplighters Bible study group, the small group leader or Bible class leader must complete the following:

  1. Advanced (Level 2) Training
  2. The Leadership Profile and Application (PDF)

I am a pastor/small group leader who is leading one or more Lamplighters Bible studies. How can I become a coach:

A discipleship coach is someone who oversees multiple Lamplighters Bible studies (usually 2-10) and shepherds the leader-trainers and provides the first line of support for them. A coach has:

  1. Overview of Ministry Development
  2. Qualifications
    • Has served effectively as a Lamplighters Leader-Trainer
    • Has started a minimum of three Lamplighters Bible study groups
    • Has completed Advanced (Level 2) training and has a good understanding of all aspects of the Intentional Discipleship process
    • Has completed the Leadership Profile and Application
    • Is an active member of an evangelical church
  3. Training
    • Someone who desires to serve as a “coach” must complete a 3-hr. training workshop that prepares the individual for all aspects of the coach’s ministry. He or she will learn how to oversee the leaders-trainers and minister to them, both personally and ministerially.

How do I become a Discipleship Director:

A discipleship director oversees all aspects of the Lamplighters Bible study ministry in a geographic area (usually an urban area). He provides leadership for the coaches and offers Level 1 training if needed.
