Pastors & Ministry Leaders

Are you a pastor or ministry leader who would like to equip the people in the church or ministry to be disciple-makers? DTI’s training will equip you to equip your people to be disciple-makers. You will learn what the Great Commission really says by examining the five references to Christ’s command, the definition of a true disciple and the seven NT principles of disciple-making that were used both by Jesus Christ and the Early Church. Then you will learn how to apply these truths in a simple and practical method of discipleship training.

A Word for Bi-Vocational Pastors

Our Executive Director, John Stewart, served as a bi-vocational, church planting pastor for three years and knows the pressure that it causes. Incorporating the intentional discipleship process will enable you to equip believers within the church to do the work of the ministry. You will be equipping them with the discipleship training they need to reach their communities for Christ.

A Word for Ministry Leaders

Many godly Christian leaders are overworked. If a Christian leader considers implementing an active disciple-making ministry in a church or ministry, the leader usually wonders how to add additional work to a full ministry schedule.

With the intentional discipleship process, the ministry leader starts an intentional discipleship Bible Study, identifies a potential leader to assume leadership of the group, trains the individual (or direct the individual to DTI’s training resources) and allows the newly-trained individual to assume leadership of the group. As the groups grow, new leaders emerge and are trained. The groups multiply, and more new leaders are trained. The pastor, staff member or ministry leader oversee the intentional disciple-makers.

How Can I Be Trained?

The Discipleship Training Institute provides two great opportunities for you to be trained as a disciple-maker 1) a series of seven online 60-minute webinars and, 2) live seminars in your church or area (e.g., Friday evening and Saturday). All training is done by a DTI Certified Trainer. The training is free, but there is a cost of $25 for the blue (student) training workbook. Workbooks can be ordered through our online store. For live seminars, the church or churches are asked to cover the travel costs. A speaker honorarium is appreciated, but not required. If you choose the webinar-based method of training, you can begin immediately by registering for the next training session and ordering your student workbook.
